I Can Make Predetermined Phrases Sound So Earnest

Ohio band news update; The Sidekicks 7" Sam is in and clickable to order directly above this blurb, the Tin Armor 7" is currently out of stock and I'm furiously working on getting a repress in as quickly as possible.

That's all for now!

Somebody Called Me On The Phone

Family is the most important thing in life. I've always considered this label and bands on it as family. So when their families get a little bigger it is cause for celebration in my life and hopefully in yours. Without further adieu I highly encourage you to click on through to Oliver Hammond Moser. Oliver is the newest addition of the Moser family and you know Jon from Charlie Brown Gets A Valentine, The AV Club and the Festipals. Congratulations guys, you've made my day!

All My Friends Are Like doublewhiskeycokenoice

Check out Generic Insight Radio tomorrow (Wednesday the 30th) at 10pm to hear a stream of the dulcet tones emanating from my vocal chords. I'll be talking about rapping spiders, vinyl colors and general hypocrisy.

In other news, the Sidekicks "Sam" will be here shortly. Check the 'space to hear a song off of it.

In an effort to get you do something that you haven't done in an extended period of time, I highly suggest that you pick up the newest issue of MRR because there's an excellent interview with the Unlovables in there.

She Left Her Sweater, I'll Get Her Number

Ladies and Gentleman, with great pleasure I'm happy to announce that Whoa Oh Records is now recognized by the mainstream music industry. No, there is a parade that you should plan for. BUT almost as exciting if you pick up a copy of Billboard magazine this week with Missy Elliot on the cover and quickly turn to page 65 you will see the Chart Burner Chart and #24 with a bullet is our very own mc chris with mc chris is dead. Directly below his name you see that the label in question is non other than Whoa Oh. HOT!!!!

Everyone should download mc chris is dead because it's a terrific, terrific record and easily one of my favorites for 2008.

In other news, interns. More to come soon.

They're Showing Us On Both Screens

I'm happy to announce that within a month's time I'll be able to cross off two of the bands that I've always wanted to see live off my list. I've set up separate shows for the 20 Belows and the Zatopeks.

The 20 Belows are playing on June 25th with Johnie 3, the Lost Locker Combo and Stewart at the Lit Lounge.

The Zatopeks are playing on July 1st with The Steinways and the LLC at the Cake Shop which will be an early show and more importantly all ages.

I'm trying to set up shows throughout the summer as part of a Whoa Oh Summer Concert Series. The idea is to have all ages shows every few weeks with different bands playing each time. If anyone runs or works at a venue that would be up for this please let me know. As of now these two are the only confirmed shows with another one in the works.

In other news The Sidekicks are getting ready to record so their 7" will be here sooner than anticipated!

Oh Susie Chapstick I've Got A Crush On You

Four! That's right four vinyl releases have gone out print as of today. Kiss Triple Bypass "Memories We Never Had," The Grand Prixx/The Proteens "Wicked Split," The Ergs Lemuria Split and The Ergs "Books About Miles Davis" all goodbye forever. I liked it when a release goes out of print when four go out of print it's cause for a celebration.

Shows to come. I hope.
