Story

I wish there was a better story associated with this record but unfortunately there isn’t. Ok I lied. The real story behind this record is that all the songs are written about the guitarist’s ex girlfriend who was stolen form him by the drummer. The band captured the roller coaster of emotions associated with all these on goings and completed this obscure pop punk gem. It was the last thing the band did and shortly after it’s release the band was no more, but it’s best to go out on a high note.

Reviews

Vital Music:

"Pop punk from NYC. 'I Don't Wanna Go To The Prom' is excellent. 4 songs, including a cover of 'Earth Angel,' recorded by Dirt Bike Adam."

Mutant Pop catalog:

"New York City pop punksters Triple Bypass! return with their second and final relase, a chunk of red wax this time around. Songs include 'You Me And The Dial Tone,' 'I Don't Wanna Go To The Prom,' 'Disney World' (their best tune) and a cover of 'Earth Angel.' This edition was released by the band's label in a small edition. Mid-tempo poppy stuff that's somewhat better than the group's debut CD." - Tim Chandler

Go Metric:

"'I Don't Wanna Go To The Prom' is an eminently good pop song. I must applaud its anti-prom and anti-Titanic sentiments. This is the third and final release from Astoria's favorite sons and with Richie Basic manning the producer's chair, it is also their best." - Mike Faloon

Maximum Rock N Roll:

"Triple Bypass! have a poppy sound similar to a lighter MTX or a slower Squirtgun."
